Being a part of a household which values petty “faith” in the unknown over scientific reasoning, I have more than enough experience with people attributing natural phenomena to “works of God” only because they do not have enough information of the topic at hand. God of the gaps, anyone?

Sooo…..49% percent of the American adult population thinks that “ordinary tomatoes do not have genes but genetically modified tomatoes do?” If ordinary tomatoes didn’t have genes, there would be nothing to modify. And that, ladies and gentlemen, is why I have lost all faith in humanity.
